Barcelona

Get in touch with Barcelona Barcelona? That’s art, culture, shopping, beach, football, nightlife… When visiting the beautiful Spanish city close to the Mediterranean Sea you have to know one thing: Don’t get stressed! There is so much to see and for sure too less time to experience all. Just try to inhale the atmosphere and take a seat in a lovely coffee bar in the historical “Barri Gotic” quarter. By day and by night the beautiful cathedral is a highlight you shouldn’t miss there. Barcelona is famous for its architecture, art and design. The buildings of Antoni Gaudi are well-known when it comes to extraordinary style. His most popular church is the incomplete “Sagrada Familia”. There is no similar creation in the whole wide world. But you can find more fantastic design of Gaudi in places like the bizarre “Palau Güell” or the “Casa Millà” where the Gaudi Museum is provided. The most visited museum in Barcelona for sure is the Museu Picasso. The Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya offers a gorgeous collection of Romanic und Gothic Art.

Fans of design get several opportunities to do some shopping. A good address for remarkable window shopping is the “Eixample”, a modern part of the city inspired by American city construction with a special flair. “Passeig de Gràcia” is the main street of that elegant quarter. Here you can get all kinds of antiquates, fashion or arts and crafts, find noble restaurants, chic cafes and boutiques. There is also a number of fine markets offering all kinds of fresh food and delicatessen or glamorous commercial centers presenting anything you might dream of. Shopping in Barcelona is fun!

“La Rambla” is the admired boulevard between center and harbor in the heart of the city people love to go. Especially at night you get that typical feeling of a Southern city here. You see locals and tourists drifting, gazing and enjoying their lives. Nightlife in Barcelona starts late. Even theaters might start at 10 p.m. Each district has its special places to go. There is no main place of entertainment. People prefer changing locations quite a lot of times during the night. Pretty tapas bars, outdoor cafés, cocktail bars, beer halls, fashionable night-clubs or discotheques wait for people to have a good time there. In summer an interesting place to go might be the “Port Olympic” which turns into a place with more than 50 addresses to party. However: the best way to start the evening is to enjoy the spectacular view over Barcelona’s sea of lights from the cocktail bar “Mirablau” located on the hill of “Tibidabo”.
