Here is what users have to say about Sears Tower In Chicago

The Sears Tower in Chicago

When it was completed in 1973 it was the tallest building in the world. Today it is still among the top ten tallest buildings - some sources place it fourth and others as far down as ninth, depending on whether they include radio antennas as part of a structure. The Sears Tower is a little over 1450 feet high.

The building is due to be renamed soon. In the Summer of 2009 it will become the Willis Tower, named from a UK firm that has leased large portions of the building. According to the official website, the building has 110 floors and 3.8 million square feet of office and retail space.

At the moment the SkyDeck on the 99th floor is open for visitors from 10am to 10pm each day. You can see about 50 miles on a clear day. Admission for adults is $14.95; kids pay $10.50. The SkyDeck on teh 103rd floor is being renovated at the moment.

The tourist entrance can be found on the south side of the building along Jackson Boulevard.

Sears sold the Tower in 1994 and moved out the following year, but Sears retained the naming rights to the building through 2003.
